Woodall Pumpkin Cookies

* Double the recipe to use one can of pumpkin
1 c. sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 c. white flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

2/3 c. oil
1 cup canned pumpkin
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 c. chopped dates (Wal-mart, in a small orange box)
Grease baking sheet 350 degrees 10-12 minutes

Icing:
3 TB butter
1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. white sugar
Boil above three ingredients for 3 minutes. Cool and add:
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
*If you double the recipe there is no need to the double icing. It is very sweet, so only use a little! I just drizzle a little over the tops.
